Their talk, however, was the talk of sordid buccaneers: it was reckless without hardihood, greedy without audacity, and cruel without courage; there was not an atom of foresight or of serious intention in the whole batch of them, and they did not seem aware these things are wanted for the work of the world. To tear treasure out of the bowels of the land was their desire, with no more moral purpose at the back of it than there is in burglars breaking into a safe. |
-- Joseph Conrad. Heart of Darkness. 1899
What was he finding? Have you ever heard the saying "Follow the money"? This is my best guess as to what's going down. But I found this information on the internet, and we know all that stuff is 100% accurate.
Best guess is that money laundering will be actually how they are going to bust this whole thing. It'll come down as RICO warrants (racketeering - the same charge that got Al Capone). We better have Mad Dog Mattis on our side when it comes down or it'll be really nasty!

A comment from Whoa. Former DNI chief Clapper: Intel community cast doubt on the legitimacy of the 2016 election Paul Manafort did Trumps campaign using the same formula that worked for Viktor Yanukovych in Ukraine's 2010 presidential election campaign. The European Parliament was watching because Ukraines application for EU membership was pending a list of reforms and the election was dirty. It has detailed records and an archive of Russian propaganda. Manafort was hired in 2005 to set everything in motion. Russia interfered with relentless propaganda, cyber-attacks and hacking that ultimately affected the voter rolls on election day, which caused mass confusion at a number of polling locations. Numerous media outlets reported that international observers gave the election a thumbs up which certainly wasnt true from the EU perspective. Observers were prevented from getting near the polling locations and couldnt say what was going on. Tymoshenko refused to concede and in a year she was locked up in jail as Yanukovych promised during the campaign. By 2016, Yanukovych was in Russia, and, of course Manafort had a connection directly to Putin and a deal to duplicate the process in the US. Its why Trump hired him. He was already connected to Russia, too. |
from AP Exclusive: Manafort had plan to benefit Putin government President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, secretly worked for a Russian billionaire to advance the interests of Russian President Vladimir Putin a decade ago and proposed an ambitious political strategy to undermine anti-Russian opposition across former Soviet republics, The Associated Press has learned. The work appears to contradict assertions by the Trump administration and Manafort himself that he never worked for Russian interests. Manafort proposed in a confidential strategy plan as early as June 2005 that he would influence politics, business dealings and news coverage inside the United States, Europe and the former Soviet republics to benefit the Putin government, even as U.S.-Russia relations under Republican President George W. Bush grew worse. Manafort pitched the plans to Russian aluminum magnate Oleg Deripaska, a close Putin ally with whom Manafort eventually signed a $10 million annual contract beginning in 2006, according to interviews with several people familiar with payments to Manafort and business records obtained by the AP. Manafort and Deripaska maintained a business relationship until at least 2009, according to one person familiar with the work. |

How Ludicrous! The USA is a rudderless ship
Those are not only conflicting stories from a single day, those are Trump's positions over the last few months.
