Brassington is located near the Roman road between Little Chester and Buxton. The parish church, St James, dates back to Norman times (12 century). One of the village's two pubs dates from 1616. All the buildings are made of gray stone, many in 18th century style. It seems a quite delightful place and currently draws its share of retirees escaping the bussle of urban life.
